Maca Music started in 2023 when Matt Taylor moved to his grandparents’ macadamia farm in Tregeagle. With a fresh start and a love for music, he had one clear goal: to create a music experience that’s fun, flexible, and open to everyone. Looking back on his own music education, Matt felt something was missing—too much structure, not enough joy.
So, he set out to change that.
At Maca Music, we believe there’s no one “right” way to learn. Everyone connects with music differently, and that’s the magic of it. Our lessons are all about you—what you’re interested in, how you learn best, and what gets you excited to play.
Most of all, we want you to enjoy the ride. Music is about exploring your creativity, having fun, and learning more about yourself along the way.
At Maca Music, we offer individual and group lessons for all skill levels in bass, guitar, keyboard, and drums.
Whether you're just getting started or picking up an instrument again after years away, we've got you covered. Our students range in age from 4 to 81—so truly, it’s never too early or too late to start making music!
Lessons can take place wherever works best for you: at your home, your school, or in our newly-renovated studio in Tregeagle.
We also run fun and engaging school holiday workshops, offer live performance opportunities, and host group band classes for those who want to jam with others and build confidence on stage.
